The Monique Morphing Tutorial – How This Synthesizer Work

Morphing gives you the capabilities of 8 different programs in one! This is perfect for real-time jamming, and live performances…

…I wrote this in the first Monique post, but still, how does morphing work? Right, it’s not the most intuitive feature in this synthesizer and I know as good as you that nobody reads the f****** user manual. So we have prepared this 7-minute video to guide you in using Monique’s powerful morphing feature so you can get the best out of the eight synthesizer presets in one.

And? I mean this is so much fun, and easy once you get the hang of it! :-)

You can use this feature to not only mix existing presets, but also evolve what you have, like in a live jam session, and find your way back at the end of the song, but more about that in another video. If you are interested in this, take a look at the user manual point 7.2 or the German user manual.

Have you already watched the first video of this tutorial series Monique Basics Tutorial (Version 2)? That 20-minute video will help you to understand the basics of Monique, like the filter routing or how to set up an ADSR envelope > continue reading.

If you like, we’ll see you next time with the open video “Monique as a Loop Station” – additionally, I think it is time to explain some technical stuff, like configuring slider handling or input smoothing!

Sincerely,
Thomas

Monique the Synthesizer is out!

Today I’m happy to open the Monoplugs Company Blog, with very special news! “Monique is out,” along with an exclusive tutorial video to help you court her accordingly.

What’s Monique? Monique is a monophonic, subtractive, digital synthesizer with the focus to create raw bass and lead sounds like you know from the analogue world. Still not impressed? Tough crowd, but understandable! Along with these brilliant capabilities, is Monique’s custom morphing feature. Morphing gives you the capabilities of 8 different programs in one! This is perfect for real-time jamming, and live performances. Not only that, you can also evolve one of the existing presets – or you can use it for sound and rhythm design, by turning on one or more of the four Morph LFO’s.

Whether you’re a professional or a newcomer, Monique is a bit different – you should really watch the Monique Basics Video. In the introductory 20-minute video, we explain Monique from the first click to the completed composition! Run through the basics with us here:

Did you already download your free demo version? You can test Monique free for an unlimited time (with just a few restrictions). Trust me, you’ll have a lot fun with her without knowing anything about synthesizers!

If you’re completely new to synthesizers, or specifically just Monique, you can take the manual to the left hand, Monique to the right, and read the manual from top to bottom (or you can just wait for the next tutorial).

One more thing I have to tell you – when I talk about we, I’m referring to a team of creatives who escort me from the first alpha build of a new product, all the way to what you see as a public consumer. For that, I’d like to thank my friends who helped me with Monique: Adrian Simon, Alex Fellows, Andreas Grässer, Anne Dietrich, Electro, Fernando Manuel Rodrigues, Ingo Weidner, Leon von Bokhorst, Matthias Culmey, Reg Griffiths, Tim Charlemagne and many more. Thank you! I’m already looking forward to the next stuff we’ll brew :-)

If you have any questions relating to Monique, B-Step, or would like to propose a new tutorial video – you can contact me via the “Thomas” at our company: “Monoplugs.com”. We welcome even the simplest questions, and weirdest (audio-related) requests! ;-)

See you next time with: *Monique’s Morphing Feature and Monique as Loop Station!

Sincerely,
Thomas

*If you are interested, take a look at point 7 and 8 in the user manual (German version). There, you can learn something about the looping and morphing features to stay ahead of the game!
