Can B-Step be used as a midi virtual controller with the external software in Cubase in the same way i can use a hardware midi controller to control software?
if so is there a midi learn feature to assign the controls within the external software to the B-Step controls?

Hi PsYAuM,

not sure if I understand you right.

The standard way: You can control B-Step with a hardware controller and B-Step will send feedback to the controller.

If you are really crazy: You can connect any MIDI device you want to B-Steps feedback output and control this device with the feedback
What a crazy idea - not sure if this is what you want to do. But you have to train B-Step before (there is a MIDI learn button at the right menu bar) - that means you have to assign a MIDI CC or MIDI note to one of B-Step's user interface elements and then you will get feedback for this CC or Note (there is no default mapping).

What do you like to do?

Does this help?

Hi Max, welcome,

can you give me a few more details about your setup, OS and what you like to do?

Cheers

Hi!

I have the same problem as Max. I use Cubase Elements 7. When I try to set up B-step as master midi-controller to a vst-instrument (I have been using Prologue) B-step is not on the list of midi-inputs. I have done as the video-tutorial, but the difference is that B-step simply isn't one of my possible midi-inputs?
